The Hebrew Home at Riverdale is seeking a paid summer Intern who will coordinate and supervise our L’Dor V’Dor Summer Internship Program for Jewish high school students to work directly with our residents while exploring their Jewish heritage.
This position is paid through a stipend. The schedule will be 5 hours per week and then from mid-June through the end of July will be 35 hours per week. The Coordinator will help recruit students for the program prepare & develop materials to be used in the program. During the summer s/he will assist in the supervision of up to 15 participants and meet with the students as a group to study Jewish sources and process their experiences.
Candidates must have experience working with teenagers in a Jewish setting, should have an upbeat attitude and an inquisitive approach toward learning. S/he must have the ability to effectively communicate information and demonstrate leadership in group and one-on-one situations. Knowledge of Jewish culture and practice is required.
