This seminar is centered on various defense mechanisms identified by Sigmund Freud and Anna Freud. Details about defenses universally used by people to protect themselves and to avoid change are presented. The seminar focuses on the Id, Ego, and Superego, and how to help clients develop insight about their use of defenses in everyday interactions.
Dr. Phil Feldman is an adjunct professor at Rutgers University, Graduate School of Social Work, where he teaches clinical topics. Dr. Feldman has experience working as a psychotherapist for more than 25 years. He has presented over 250 seminars on mental health topics, including personality disorders, emotional disorders, and psychotherapy models. In addition, Dr Feldman is the author of The Psychotherapy Manual, Co-occurring Disorders, and Shame Affect - Theory, Research, and Clinical Treatment.
Attendees must attend the entire seminar and complete the evaluation form to receive a Certificate of Attendance. The certificate will be given at the end of the seminar.
