Public Relations Coordinator The Madison Square Garden Company (MSG)
The Public Relations Coordinator position is a vital part of MSGE PR department. This position is exposed to every production that MSGE produces such as the Radio City Christmas Spectacular (RCCS) and the Rockettes, as well as co-promoted productions such as our spring family shows, any potential new productions, concerts and attractions. The position sets up and executes press events, independently reaches out to the press for on-site coverage, pitches features and exposure, and independently manages press at events throughout the year such as concerts and family shows, and works with the department on RCCS to brainstorm ideas for the PR Plan.
The Public Relations Coordinator functions as the lead on some of the family shows that returns to MSG or RCMH in the spring, including having responsibility for the creation and execution of the PR plan, and oversees the entire process. The coordinator works closely with the lead on each project to coordinate the logistics surrounding the RCCS by preparing PR materials, sending out alerts, and arranging travel and production support for PR events in the markets.
The Public Relations Coordinator develops and oversees the Garden of Dreams Foundation (GDF) plan for the year, including fundraising and programming ideas. The coordinator works with MSGE representatives to ensure that GDF programs are prioritized and that compelling programs are created that “make dreams come true for kids in crisis.” The coordinator helps develop and execute public relations activities to promote GDF and manages press on-site at GDF/MSGE events.
The position ensures that all departmental functions such as Press Clips, Gateway, Media Library, media contact lists, updates, calendars, and concert/event announcements are sent on time and kept up to date. Position manages on-site coordination for any concert or event rentals that are booked through MSG Entertainment.
